Q: What is a good 32 inch draw compound hunting bow?
I need a compound hunting bow, but I have long arms that measure to a 32 inch draw, thus making finding a good compound bow very difficult.

I don’t have alot of money, so the cheaper the better. What is a good and cheap 32 inch draw compound hunting bow?

A: the closest i found to a 32 inch draw length is a ross carnivore 34 from bass pro shops which has a 31 inch draw length

Q: Compound Bow hunting and shaking during full draw?
I have a compound bow I recently purchased, and at “full draw” I have a problem with shaking. Any recommendations on what might decrease the shaking I am experiencing? I have a stabilizer currently on the bow, it is 4.5 oz. Should I increase? Should I decrease? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

A: Your muscles need conditioning.* Start practicing with it with out shooting any arrows from it.* Just keep drawing it over & over again until you can’t draw it any more.* Its called exercising & conditioning those muscle groups you use.* Draw & hold, Draw & hold, Draw & hold over & over & over.*

Q: What is the best broadhead for the money for Whitetail Deer Hunting? (Compound Bow)?
I am new to bow hunting and need some advice. What is the best bang for the buck broadhead to put on my arrows for whitetail deer hunting? Please advise.

A: I agree, Muzzy makes an excellent 3 blade 100 grain broadhead that’s well built and shoots straight.

I can get a six pack of these for around $35

Every year I use last years blades for practicing on a broadhead target then I buy a set of brand new replacement blades for $10 and put them on the night before season starts.

Q: Is it a good Compound bow hunting setup?
I have a 45 pound red zone falcon bow with a 5 pin fibre optic sight and a gel stabilizer with carbon fibre red zone arrows? I do not have any broad heads yet can you please recommend some?

A: Use fixed 3-blade broadheads, 100 grains. Muzzy, is a great make, but use can find others at cabelas.com and basspro.com, or if the store is close to you, you can go and see the selection for yourself.

Good Luck

Q: Whats a good beginner compound bow for hunting?
Im thinking about getting into bow hunting for deer. I already deer hunt with rifles though. I want a good bow that doesnt cost alot and is camo. Plus im not that strong for my age (15) so i need one thats not to hard to pull back but will still kill a deer from 30 yards.

A: Get a Bear Lights Out tuned to about 50lbs.

It’s light, zero vibration, maneuverable, real tree camo, and has excellent let off… about 80%. Look up the reviews on it, they are awesome.

Q: what is the best compound hunting bow brand for a beginner bow?
looking to start bow hunting and I need a not too expensive bow to introduce me to the sport

A: Bear bows are what I started with and I really liked mine. Go to a bow shop and shoot the bows in your price range. Then you will be able to make an educated decision. Any bow on the market will kill a deer. The higher end bows are just made a little better. I shoot a Mathews now and it’s a big difference from my old Bear .

Q: What is a good and cheap compound hunting bow?
Im looking for a nice cheap compound hunting bow possibly under $150

A: i agree you maybe able to find a good used bow for that but not new. and yes pse sells bows at walmart for around 200 bucks and they work fine. the bow is only as quiet as you make it. i use limbsaver string leeches and spider leggs and my bow is very quiet. you get the quality you pay for but all the quality gear in the world isnt going to make you any better if you dont practice practice practice. i hunted for years with an old ben pearson bows and cheap tru flite arrows that i bought in a garage sale for $75 they worked great the key is practice

Q: bow hunting? im looking into getting a compound bow for hunting?
im looking into getting a compound bow for hunting, i live in victoria australia. what sort of bow should i get? and where from?
also where can i go hunting in vic?

A: I don’t know about vic but you could try the guys at Eagle archery in Brisbane ((07) 3808 4111) they helped me out and might be able to point you in the right direction down there. There is a lot of people who sell the gear who don’t know squat about it so take care. Look for the specialists in archery and steer clear of the gun shops (just my personal experience). Good luck.

Q: What is a real good compound hunting bow?
Price under about $600 max
Will be hunting whitetail deer if that helps any

A: I have a pse brute and have killed 5 animals. I live in montana and the 5 animals that i have harvested are all large animals and had no problem taking them down and the price and ruggedness is great.

Q: would i be able to kill a kangaroo with a hunting compound bow?
also how far do you think the kangaroo will run before it dies?

A: Piece of cake, as far as power/penetration is concerned. As stated previously by others, it’s a matter of shot-placement. Any animal can be easy to kill if it’s hit right, & can be pretty tough if it’s hit wrong. I’ve shot dozens of deer, (up to 220 lbs/100 kilos), completely through, as well as a similar # of wild/feral boar, (500 lbs/200 kilos),with a 60-70 lbs setup with no problem. (& pigs are big boned & fairly stout.) Any modern compound bow, say 50#’s or more, (with sharp broad-heads), will do the trick. Try to avoid the shoulder bones for example. A shot thru the ribs, tight BEHIND the shoulder, (if he’s on all 4’s) should make for a short tracking job. Good luck !

Q: What is the minimum draw weight for a compound bow for deer hunting?
Looking to buy first bow for whitetail deer hunting. Am going to practice for next year. Want to get a bow that isnt to hard to shoot.

A: As others have stated, it depends on the state you live in. In my state of Louisiana, the minimum draw weight is 30 lbs.You would have to make a perfect lung shot, and use a cut on contact 2 blade broadhead to be successful.

Q: what accessories do I need for a compound bow? hunting deer?
hunting deer in kansas. compound bow

A: You need a bow and arrows and lots and lots of practice with them. Know how it shoots from the ground and from a stand. Be able to make sitting or standing shots.

A range finder can be usefull sometimes. If you know the spot well etc, you will probable know you yardage, if you are in an open new area it may be harder to range your deer.

Q: what is a good compound bow for hunting that i can get for around 200 bucks? even for small stuff like turkeys
im looking to buy a bow that i can go in the bush with and bring back supper. something strong that wont break, and that i can get a turkey with, or other small game.

A: when it comes to bows ur better off buying used u can get a 200$ bow in excellent condition for like 40-60$

Q: compound bow hunting for beginner?
i am a beginner when it comes to hunting.my friend is a compound bow hunter.i liked it but i am not sure if that is what most people do.
i want to hunt for adventure and not to kill.i want to make it as a hobby and want to try something which is hard and requires skills.i feel that compound bow hunting requires practise and skills unlike crossbow hunting..
please anyone tell me about this.are there any other options..
i would like to hunt deers though.
if i wanted to kill, then i would have got a gun.that way u can kill a lot.with compound bow,u need to be a great expert and have good skills to kill..so i may end up killing very few dears, but here i have to develop great skills…hunting is just fascinating in that your mind should work laterally and involves multiple tasking…it may also be dangerous but thats adventure..indoor activities are boring after some time simply because they involve the same thing..
can u people advise me more..thanks for quick answers.

A: If you want to go out hunting for the adventure, try to shoot a recurve bow. I’m going out this Saturday and I’m excited beyond belief. There are no sights, no “give” at the end of your draw, and they’re just so much harder to shoot. Try on a target then switch to live game. I don’t think there will be a time where you pass up an eight pointer just because it was thrilling to see him. Good luck.
