Q: Does anyone know anything about HOYT Oasis compound bow?
I traded my recurve for a hoyt oasis compound bow. Does anyone know anything about them. Like how much they were worth new and how much they are worth now. What is the fps on the arrow for a 60 pound draw. Its a pretty compound i was just wanting some info on them. I heard they were good.
A: Click link below you’ll love it. I own 7 Bows Hoyt and Bear are my best for hunting.
Q: I would like to get into archery. What is a good compound bow? Hoyt?
I would like to get a high quality bow with alot of power. Also where is a good website etc to learn the equipment? Thanks!
A: try traditional archery its so much more fun and its much more of a personal challenge but compounds are for people tht dont want to practice and are to lazy to go out every day and shoot
Q: what length bowstring do i need for a 15-20 yr old Hoyt Spectra Mako compound bow?
The specs are worn off the sticker, and neither i nor my hunting-supply guy seem to be able to find info on it…
A: Find yourself an Archery Shop close to home and take your bow with you. They will fix you up in short order.
Q: I have a Hoyt Eclipse compound bow with a 29″ draw + or – 1 inch. Can I drop the draw length below 28″?
I was wanting to know if I can buy modules to adjust the draw length like newer compound bows.
A: i think your bow can be dropped to a lower draw length if im not mistaken, on your cams there should be some adjustment pins move those pins further back that should take the draw lenght to 27
Q: hoyt laser tech compound bow?
does anybody have one of these and do you like it
A: gander mountain
Q: Which compound bow is better Matthews or Hoyt?
A: I own both brands and they are both great bows. But if the Matthews is dry fired the odds are the bow will suffer a lot of damage. The Hoyt can be dry fired without harming the bow. For that reason alone, since they are about equal in all other aspects, I would recommend the Hoyt .The Hoyt Alpha Max in particular. But you can’t go wrong with either bow, it’s just that the Matthews is not quite as durable.
Q: Finger tab or release aid for my old compound bow?
My compound bow is a hoyt provantage. should i use a release aid or finger tab? it has a low let off. I would be using a whisker biscuit arrow rest.
A: Low let off? – Then don’t complicate things with a release aid.
They’re for either very heavy bows, or archers with poor skills,
and they represent another small item to get tangled up with,
lose, or have malfunction.
If you can’t get a good consistant release with a light let off,
then practice.
You can get ‘glove type’ tabs that stay where they belong.
Q: Should I get a hoyt bow or a PSE??
I’m looking at getting a Hoyt compound 40-65# bow (used) for 250 dollars. It has a leather case quiver peep sights 11 carbon arrows stabiliser arm guard and finger guard with it, 3 broadheads and a few target points and a new string. But I also saw a used PSE compound 30-55# bow but it doesnt have any accesories with it except for a sight, and its 180 dollars. I want to used it for hunting stuff like hares. Which one should i get?
i also want to hunt bigger things are boars too big for a 65 pound bow?? they have thick skin around their ribs- i shot a .222 at one and the bullet mostly broke up on the outside- can a bow with broadheads get through this?
A: i never buy used archery equipment any more…i did one time years ago and to my dismay after i had it and shot 3 arrows the top limb seperated . after closer examination it was found that both limbs had hairline fractures that couldnt be seen by the naked eye. Be leary of either bow if it is used. as for which is the best…thats personal preferance ive hunted with PSE HOYT PARKER and MATHEWS…the PSE performed just as well as the other higher cost units
Q: What brand of comound hunting bow should i get?
I want to buy a used compound bow for deer hunting. i have looked around and these are the brands i have found bows of: 1998 PSE Nova Compound Bow, hoyt redline, Fred Bear- Black Bear. How are these brands? the prices for them are all around 100-150 and most come with extras.what type of bow should i buy with 175.00???? also what else would i need besides a bow in order to go hunting? thanks
A: Those are all good brands, I am not sure how good the models are.
Q: in your opinion do you prefer pse, bowtech, mathews, or hoyt compound bows best
A: Here’s the deal- the top 3 bows in the US in sales and customer satisfaction are the Hoyt, Matthews, and Bow-Tech. The very top 2 bows on the tournament circuit are the Matthews and the Hoyt-Both claim to have the most tournament wins every year. However, research shows that when a customer went to a pro shop to buy a bow, and shot all 3 of them, 8 out of 10 chose the Bow- Tech. I own the Hoyt and Matthews already, but I sure am anxious to try out the Bow-Tech.
I don’t think you could go wrong with any of the 3 bows mentioned.Be sure and go to a shop that allows you to shoot the bows and then decide which one you prefer. Good luck!
Q: Best Compound bow of 2008? Mathews, Parker, Hoyt, Martin, Bowtech, Diamond, PSE, or Bear?
Only vote from these 7
List your vote, age, and gender.
A: There are three that are in a dead heat for the best of the best.
Matthews DXT. Bow-Tech Admiral,Hoyt Katera. You can’t go wrong with any one of these bows, you can not list a single bow and call it the best, because everyone has a different subjective opinion on what is the best for them.
Q: What type of sight should I but on my bow?
I have a 67lbs hoyt reflex compound bow . I don’t know what kind of sight I should use fixed pin or one pin adjustable. Which is best?
A: The type of sight would depend on what you are using the bow for.
If it is hunting or 3d archery I would recommend a one pin adjustable sight.
If you are shooting paper I would recommend an adjustable sight with scope (with or without a magnifying lens) something like a sureloc
or even a copper john.
If you want more info on sights I would check out the following site and talk to anyone on this site and they can give you reports on every sight available( half of them most likely have owned all of them at one point in time or another.) http://www.archerytalk.com
Good luck and I hope you find the sight your looking for

A: Matthews switchback is the best bow on the market! It shoots faster and harder than anything I have ever shot. They are a bit pricey, but in the end you will love it.
Q: compound bow draw weight?
I was thinking about getting a hoyt bow..
im new to compounds and the one i want has a draw weight of 40-70#
and the feet per second was 303?
does this mean if i put the bow on 40# that i will still have fps of 303?
and if not what would it be?
im just wondering and if you could help me out thanks…
A: You are never likely to reach the quoted IBO speed of the bow, and at 40lbs you will certainly not reach it, no. The speed is a measure taken from arrow weight, draw weight and draw length.
Usually, the actual speed is somewhere between the IBO and AMO speed since they are different measurements… the only true way is to shoot an arrow using a chronograph. This gives a digital readout and will show the actual speed of the arrow leaving the bow.
At a guess, and its impossible to say, you would probably get something in the region of around 225fps.
Q: Archery: Compound Bow, what are the pros and cons of a whiskerbiscuit rest? Will it slow my arrow?
I have recently purchased a new Hoyt. After shooting the bow for a few weeks, I’ve noticed some wear on my current rest (it seems my fletching is clipping the rest on my release). I tried grinding it down, but I still have no confidence in my shot. I’ve heard that a whiskerbiscuit would be worth my money, but I’d like some more information on them. Will is slow down my shot? Are they difficult to install? Thanks!
A: it provides more stability for your arrow and it is much quieter and it will not slow your arrow
