Q: can you adjust the draw length on an approximately fifteen-year-old PSE compound bow?
I bought an old PSE last summer but the draw length is too long. I was just wondering if the older PSE had adjustable cams so I can shorten it up a bit.
A: It would be determined by which particular model you had. The old ones did have an adjustment range of about 3 inches. The cams would have 3 slots in each of them and the slot the string was in determined your draw length. But even so your bow may be in the shortest draw slots already. The only thing you can do is take it to an archery shop and they can look at the cams and tell if it can be adjusted shorter or not.
Q: Bowhunters….. I have a 27 inch draw, I use a PSE compound bow… what length of arrow should I be shooting?
I have a 1 inch overdraw rest on the bow….. I am interested in deer, turkey, and antelop hunting but I haven’t went bowhunting in about 15 years and really want to get back into it…..thanks for the help
A: Alright, if I understand it right, you have a 27″ draw with a 1″ overdraw. Generally you need a minimum of 1″ of arrow past your REST. Draw your bow back with an uncut arrow and have someone mark a spot on your arrow 1-2″ past where your arrow contacts the rest. So, depending on your rest, somewhere in the 25-26.5″ range
Q: I am looking to buy an inexpensive pse bow. What do others thing of it?
I would like to buy and inexpensive pse compound bow. I don’t have the money for a real expensive one and I would just like one that works well. I would like to know what other hunters thought about this. If it is a good decision or if I should look at another brand.
A: PSE makes good bows. I shoot a Matthews but I have a friend that shoots a PSE and loves it I think his bow shoots just as good as my Matthews. I just paid 2 times what he paid for the name. So like I said PSE makes excellent bows.

Q: what would be a good stabalizer for a pse spyder compound bow?

A: one of many get magnizum (sp) if you can ok thanks eddie
Q: PSE Stinger Compound Bow?
PSE Stinger Compound Bow?
what do the bow hunters think of this bow
PSE Stinger Compound Bow
thinks i am think of buying this so i want a opinion
A: It will be fine but don’t expect it to last a long time. PSE cuts corners on Cams and Bearings. If you plan on shooting the Bow a lot, you might get 2 years out of it, more if you clean it often.
You are better off getting a Hoyt or Bowtech or even Parker. Those bows are more rugged and those companies stand behind their bows better than PSE. PSE will stand behind their bow untill the check clears then blame you for any problem.
Not only me, but three guys I hunt with all bought PSE bows (4 total). I got mine at the PRO shop in Tuscon. They would not cover Cammo paint that was pealing off in sheets after 3 weeks. All of us had problems. 3 had paint, 3 had Cam problems, One had a limb splinter. PSE would not make it right for any of us. And given we have all hunted with Bows several years with no problems, we know what we are doing with bows, and all these problems happened within a year, one would expect the company to pony up.
And yes, we spent Top dollar on 3 different Models. They make junk. Get something better for your money
Q: how do i change the draw weight on a pse spirit compound bow?
do a need a bow press
A: There is a limb bolt that connects the limb to the bow riser. You take that bolt and rotate it to the left. Remember if you adjust one limb, you need to adjust the other. I also would not recommend that you do this by yourself. I would have someone with more experience do it for you. The spirit is an older bow which means it has no safety bolt. If you turn the limbs out to much, they will come out of the bow, all of the stored energy in the limbs will be released and it will be very pain full for who ever is holding the bow.
Q: I recently purchase a PSE NOVA compound bow with a 28″ draw what length do i need my arrows cut to ?
A: Your arrows should be cut to the length that tunes with the bow. For a tuning guide go to this website and follow the Easton tuning guide. It’s a very good starting point.

The Easton tuning guide addresses both recurve and compound.
Q: I have a PSE bruin compound bow. it has truglo 3 pin sight with a whisker biscuit How much should i sell for?
A: A pawn shop would give you about half of what it costs new if it is good condition. So anything more than that is good.
Q: what would be the best arrow length for a 75lb drawback Buckmaster PSE compound bow?
im a noob at technical archery statistics. i read somewhere that ‘usually an arrow the same length as a bow’s drawback works best.’ my bow’s drawback length was written on it as 31″, so i bought 31″ carbon arrows and they seemed to work fine, maybe a little shaky on take-off. and then i noticed that my arrows were sticking out a good 1 1/2-2 inches from my bow, so i got some 30″ arrows. but these are totally retarded. everytime i let fly them i can see the backends of them flapping back and forth on their way to the target, very inaccurate and sometimes veering completely off course. im sure getting a bow with a weaker drawback weight would solve my problem, but i like my bow. any other suggestions? should i go back to 31″ arrows or get an even shorter length?
A: Are you using these for hunting or just for target shooting? Hunting arrows need to accomodate a broadhead, so you need something even longer than 31″ so that the broadheads don’t touch your hand.
Either way, arrows have a spine size and length. The spine size determines the static spine, and the length, point weight, bow poundage determines the dynamic spine. First when you buy an arrow, you need to go to the arrow manufacturer’s website. They usually have an arrow chart. For compound it’s very straight forward, you take your bow poundage, and the desired length, it’ll give you the arrow size that you need. If the size doesn’t match with your poundage and draw length, it’ll give you these funny erratic flights.
Here’s how draw length is measured on bows, the draw length is the length from the nock groove to the back of the bow. Usually this means the length from nock groove to the arrow rest plus 1 3/4″. So you’re about right on with that 31″ arrow. If it flies funny, you need to tune the arrow, first consult the chart to make sure the size is right. For carbon arrows, the size might say something like 400 or 500 or 350, others list a poundage range 5575 or 4060. Aluminum shafts also have 4 digit numbers, but they say different things, 2315 or 2016. Take the 2016, that means the shaft outer diameter is 20/64″ and the wall of the shaft is 16/1000″ thick. Note, that it says nothing about the actual spine of the shaft.
Q: PSE Nova Compound Bow?
Im looking seriosly into bow hunting, and a friend has a PSE Nova bow. It is a 28 inch draw, 50-60 pound. He wants $75. I found a new one for like $250 so, is this a good deal. Its about two years old.
A: Yes its a good deal if your just starting out. The Nova was a mid range bow when it was introed. I would suggest taking it to a pro shop so that it can be checked out before you buy. If thats not possible then inspect it yourself. The most important thing is the limbs. Make sure you see no white edges anywhere from the riser to the cams. Everything else can be easily replaced or maintained if the limbed show no sign of serious wear.
Within a year you will be looking for another bow if you enjoy the sport. Hoyt and Mathews are the top makers and If I was you I would be oin the look out in the near future for a good deal on either of those 2 brands. A good deal on either of them would be $400 or less !
A few tips to make your shot alittle better.
1. Dont hold your breath.
2. Everytime you trigger the release should be a suprise to you. Squeeze it slow and focus on the target.
3. Wait for it ! That buck will not run if you wait for the right shot !’
4. I wouldnt shoot anything past 30 Yards !
Good Luck & Happy Shooting ! Hope this helps !

Q: Compound Bow Information on a PSE BowMasters bow?
It’s a PSE Bowmasters bow max draw=70lbs.
Does anyone know where I can get information abou this bow such as the other bow settings?
I’ve been told it is set at the lowest wieght. However I don’t know what that wieght is.
Can anyone help.
I bought 4560 wieght arrows will it work?
A: Your best bet is to go to an archery shop with it. They can measure the draw weight and check to see if the draw length is set for you. They can also cut your arrows to the correct length, if needed, all of which can determine the proper weight of the arrows you will need!
Q: What arrows should i use for my compound bow?
I got a PSE silverhawk compound bow, and i have no idea what type of arrows to buy.
A: Go to Bass Pro…D
Q: How do you decrease tension on a compound bow?
I have a compound bow, it’s 55-70 weight range and i need to lower it just a little
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PSE-RH-Compound-Bow-Thunder-Flite-w-Access-Bow-Case_W0QQitemZ200404725055QQcategoryZ20838QQcmdZViewItem
this is what it looks like, all the way.
How would i decrease the bow strength?
A: It’s a pretty standard procedure. The limbs are held in place with big allen screws. As you tighten these – meaning screw them into riser the bow weight goes up. As you unscrew them the bow weight goes down. The manual for your bow should tell you how many turns you can back the limbs out. This is actually an important thing to know because most PSE bows are “pre – loaded” meaning that there is tension on the string even if the screws are almost all the way out. Many manufacturers do this to increase power of the bow without increasing the fistmele. (the distance from the riser to the string when the string is at rest)
Generally, a full turn on the screw is about 4 – 5 pounds, but your manual should say. If you don’t have the manual, call PSE or talk to an archery pro shop. Also, pro shops sell T handle allen wrenches for making this easier to do – if you are going to mess with the weight of your bow often I would highly recommend getting one.
If you don’t know how many turns out from the riser you are right now, then screw the limbs all the way down and just back them off to your desired weight from there.
